Week 11 – Locking Into Marathon Pace

Another solid week in the books, and I can feel the progress building. With just a few weeks to go before the Milano Marathon, things are getting real and exciting!

Monday – 45 Minutes Easy & core strength

I started the week with 45 minutes of basic endurance in Biel during lunch time, followed by a 30-minute core-focused strength session in the evening. Planks & stability drills were on the menu.

Tuesday – Group Run with the Footing club de Lausanne

An easy 1h15 run with my club. Chatting away made the time fly. There’s something energizing about running in good company!

Thursday – Endurance running in the hills

Another 1h15 endurance run, but this time I went for elevation and explored the hills above Biel. It was peaceful and refreshing—a great way to break out of routine.

Saturday – Marathon pace practice

This was the highlight of the week. I had 2×20 minutes at my target marathon pace (around 5:05/km), set by my coach after my 1:37 finish at the half marathon a few weeks back. I hit the road early in Lausanne to avoid the lakeside crowds. It felt great to dial into race rhythm and visualize the big day. I managed to hit goal pace without any issues and practiced race day fueling for the first time.

Sunday – Long run, slow and steady

I wrapped up the week with a 2-hour endurance run, covering 22 km. These long runs are my quiet confidence builders. Every run gets me closer to the finish line in Milano. Wrapping up the week at almost 70km.

Week 11 Recap – Milan feels closer than eve

I'm learning to trust the process and enjoy the rhythm of this journey. Let’s keep the momentum going!
